Men's Tennis Stopped by Crusaders

FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College men's tennis team fell to visiting Alvernia, 7-2, in a Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth match played at West Winds Tennis and Fitness.

The Blazers scored points at second and third singles. Josh Sexton (Mesa, Ariz. / Mesa) was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at second singles over Colin MacCloskey. Joe Benton (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) won in straight sets against Jake Conapitski, 6-3, 6-2. 

Two other Hood players fell in three sets. At fifth singles, Jorden Hahn (Thurmont, Md. / Catoctin) won the first set, but fell to Kyle Clark, 2-6, 6-3, 10-6. Conor Riggin (Sykesville, Md. / Century) won the first set against Antonio Gaetani, but the Crusader came back for a 3-6, 6-3, 10-3 win at sixth singles. 

The Blazers head to Stevenson on Apr. 12.
