FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College men's tennis team dropped its season opener to visiting St. Mary's (Md.), 8-1.

Match Recap

• Hood started the afternoon on the right foot, as Alex Sexton and Michael Brady teamed for an 8-6 victory at first doubles.
• Brady, making his collegiate debut, nearly forced a third set at second singles, but fell to Ethan Garren 6-3, 7-6 (6).
• The Blazers' second doubles duo of Jorden Hahn and Conor Riggin pushed Jon Gorel and Garren to the limit, but fell 8-6.

• Hood dropped to 0-1 on the season. 
• In addition to Brady, Alex Beaumont and Christian Woltz made their collegiate debuts.
