Benton, Ruths Win against Shenandoah

FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to visiting Shenandoah in the last non-conference match of the season. 

How it Happened

  • Both of the Blazers' points came via third set tiebreakers. 
  • Joe Benton won at third singles with a 1-6, 6-4, 10-4 victory against Bryan Harris. 
  • At fifth singles, Tanner Ruths scored a 4-6, 6-4, 11-9 win over Kevin Apgar. 
  • The closest call in doubles came from Conor Riggin and Shaun Sullivan at third doubles. The duo lost just 8-6 to Kyle Denning and Andrew Richards.
