Men's Tennis Wins on Senior Day

FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College men's tennis team picked up its second Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth win of the year to close out the season with a 7-2 win over Albright. 

How it Happened

  • Joe Benton, honored on Senior Day along with Tanner Ruths and Christian Woltz, was the only double-winner for the Blazers. He teamed with Conor Riggin to win 8-1 at second doubles and picked up a 6-1, 6-0 victory at third singles. 
  • Ruths scored a 6-1, 6-0 victory at fifth singles over David Sylvester. 
  • Jorden Hahn was a 6-2, 6-3 winner against Cole Mitchell at fourth singles. 
  • At first doubles, Alex Sexton and Michael Brady recorded a 9-7 win over Matthew Muoio and Ken Richardson. 

Notes

  • Ruths win was his 10th of his career. His 10-3 career singles record gives the senior the highest winning percentage in school history.
