FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College's Alex Sexton won at first singles, but the men's tennis team dropped its match to Lebanon Valley 8-1 in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play. 

How it Happened

• Sexton was a 6-3, 6-2 winner at first singles over Nick Jones. 
• Joe Benton dropped a 6-4, 6-4 final to Jonathan Hastings at second singles. 
• At sixth singles, Alex Beaumont nearly pulled out the first set but lost 7-5, 6-2 against Elliott Kleckner. 
• Sexton and Michael Brady fell 8-5 to Blake Martin and Jones at first doubles.
