Men's Tennis Pushes McDaniel to the Limit

FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College men's tennis team fell in a hard-fought 5-4 final to visiting McDaniel in the season opener for both teams. 

How it Happened

  • The Blazers won two of the three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead into singles play. 
  • Alex Sexton and Michael Brady teamed for an 8-2 win at first doubles over Will Giles and Jimmy Wawrynski. 
  • Ben DeLeo and Andrew Heon, both making their collegiate debuts, scored an 8-2 win over Justin Arters and Tate Myers at third doubles. 
  • Hood received points in singles from Jorden Hahn and Matthew Betz
  • Hahn was a winner at third singles, 7-5, 6-4 over Quinn Burker. 
  • In his collegiate debut, Betz outlasted Aidan Finnerty at sixth singles 6-1, 4-6, 7-5.
