FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College men's swim team lost to York College of Pennsylvania in a Middle Atlantic Conference matchup at home with a final score of 109.5-61.5.

Winners

• Hazen Stowell came in first place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:59.56. He also earned first place in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing in 2:07.19. Andrew Bezmen followed in third place, swimming a time of 2:18.61.
• Russell Odor took home the win in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing in 23.23. He came in second in the 100-yard butterfly, completing the event in 56.65.

Seconds

• Brooks Anderson placed second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.11. His time of 1:58.32 earned him a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle. 
• Patrick Krol finished the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:06.11, tying for second place. 
• Hood's 200-yard medley relay team of Stowell, Krol, Odor and Cameron King swam a time of 1:44.57 to claim second place.
• The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Bezmen, Hank Machen, King and Anderson earned second place with their time of 1:38.24.

Notes

• Hood drops to 1-1 on the season and in the MAC. 
• It was the season opener for the Spartans.
