ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - The Hood College men's tennis team opened the 2022 spring season against the St. Mary's (Md.) Seahawks that resulted in a 9-0 loss for the Blazers.
Singles
- At number one singles, Kyle Richardson fell to Stephen Alam 6-2, 6-2.
- Clifford Hedin dropped to Kier Nacua 6-0,6-2 at number two singles.
- Sam Sheats defeated Jeff Fleming at number three singles 6-0, 6-0.
- At number four singles, Jake Wantz fell to Tyler VanValkenburg 6-0, 6-0.
- K. Stephen Johnson bested Tobi Aroloye 6-0, 6-0 at number five singles.
- Iradan Hayiarwae lost to Justin Karolyi at number six singles 6-0, 6-0.
Doubles
- The duo of Hedin and Richardson fell to the Seahawks' Alam and Nacua 8-0 at number one doubles.
- At number two doubles, Fleming and Wantz were defeated by Sheats and VanWalkenburg 8-0.
- Aroloye and Hayiarwae fell to Liam Pratt and Shepard Johnson 8-0 at number three doubles.
