FREDERICK, Md. – Hood College Athletics is heading into the final days of the regular season with four teams fighting for their playoff lives while Cross Country look to put up top times at the Middle Atlantic Conference C Championship.
Men's Soccer clinched a spot in the playoffs last night for the first time since 2016 and the second time as a member of the MAC Commonwealth. A win earns them the No. 3 seed while a loss by York will also keep them in that spot. A York win and a Hood loss would drop the Blazers to the No. 4 seed, the final berth is yet to be decided between York, Eastern and Widener.
Field Hockey has two games remaining and sits in the No. 4 spot to start the day. A win against Stevenson tonight at home or Alvernia at Thomas Athletic Field on Saturday clinches the final spot. A loss for the Blazers and some mathematics give them a chance to stay in the dance for the first time since joining the MACC.
Women's Volleyball fights for the final spot against Widener, a win versus the foe on Wednesday, November 5
th in Woodsboro Bank Arena would land the Blazers in the No. 4 spot and their first clinch since 2015.
Women's Soccer has two games left: Stevenson and Messiah on Wednesday and Saturday, win both those games and they will need a shake up in the standings to nab a spot.
