READING, Pa. – The men's track and field team competed at the PLEX Shootout hosted by Alvernia University on Saturday.
Top Finishers
Juan Barberena (Urbana, Md./Urbana High School) headlines the Blazers with his performances in the 200 meter and 400 meter races. Barberena ran a 23.74 in the 200m good enough for 10
th while his performance in the 400m earned him a podium finish in third with a 53.18.
Alex Seskar (Great Mills, Md./Great Mills) keeps his Blazer of the Week conversations plentiful with his podium finish in the 5000 meter with a bronze finish at 15:43.9.
Owen Ellington (Laurel, Md./Gonzaga College) warmed up his relay legs with a 18
th place finish in the 400 meter just two and half seconds behind Barberena at 55.61.
Tyshawn Brown enters the chat with a Top 25 finish in the 800m. His time of 2:09.21 earned him 22
nd.
In the field, Carter Naiman launched himself 3.77 meters to stick the landing in 10
th in the pole vault event.
To round out the Blazers, the ever-so-electric relay for the men's team earned a fourth place finish just missing the podium by .47 of a second. Barberena, Brownfield, Ellington, and Sappe posted a speedy 3:37.38.
