J.R. Adams

J.R. Adams joined the Hood College track and field/cross country staff in 2022-23. 

Adams arrives at Hood after serving as the assistant coach at Howard Community College in 2021-22, helping lead the Dragons to a top 10 finish as a team at the NJCAA
Championships in 2022. Specializing in jumps, his athletes produced top five finishes in the long jump and triple jump.  

Prior to HCC he spent time serving as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. He guided the 2020 outdoor MEAC pole vault champion after the athlete took second at the 2020 MEAC Indoor Championships
.  

As an undergraduate, Adams started his collegiate track career at Delaware State University. He later transferred to
the University of Maryland Eastern Shore where he completed his collegiate track career in 2016.  

Adams graduated
from UMES with an undergraduate degree in exercise science.
