Hood College

Canney was named an assistant coach and graduate assistant in July 2023. 

Currently she is studying in the mental health counseling program and holds a USA Hockey Level 1 coaching certification. 

Before Hood, Canney played Division III women's hockey for Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York and was a team captain in her junior and senior year. There she graduated with B.A in sociology and minor in communications.

Originally from Massachusetts, she played hockey at Northfield Mount Hermon prep school in Mount Hermon, Massachusetts.
