Erika Moyer was named the head strength and conditioning coach at Hood College in the summer of 2019.
In addition to creating the strength and conditioning program for the Blazers, Moyer also serves as the director of physical education at Hood.
Moyer arrives in Frederick after serving the 2018-19 academic year as the head strength and conditioning coach at Goucher College. She was the Gophers’ first strength and conditioning coach and was responsible for the strength and conditioning for all 20 of Goucher’s athletic offerings.
Prior to Goucher, Moyer spent almost two years as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pa., where she began her tenure in September of 2016.
At Swarthmore, Moyer developed specific strength & conditioning programs for six different teams, while also teaching physical education classes to Swarthmore students, among other duties.
Moyer entered the college ranks after working for three years as the Fitness Center Manager at Fitness U in Harrisburg, Pa. Moyer also served as the head junior varsity and assistant middle school coach for the girls' soccer program at Central Dauphin School District in Harrisburg.
Moyer, who is in the process of earning a Master of Science degree in Exercise Science and Injury Prevention from California (Pa.), earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Mansfield in 2013 in sports nutrition & dietetics. While at Mansfield, Moyer earned four letters in women's soccer, where she earned All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Third Team accolades in 2012 while serving as team captain.
Moyer also holds the following certifications: Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA), USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach Level 1 (USAW), Certified Speed Specialist (NASE-CSS), and CPR/AED/First Aid (American Red Cross).
