    Assistant Coach
Jen Donahue returns to her alma mater as Hood College’s Goalkeeper Coach for the field hockey program for the 2025 season. A 2009 Hood graduate, Donahue brings over a decade of coaching experience and a deep passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the field.

Donahue began her coaching career in Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS), where she has coached high school field hockey for eight seasons. She most recently served as the Head Varsity Field Hockey Coach at Governor Thomas Johnson High School (GTJHS), where she led the Patriots to two regional championship game appearances over the course of three seasons.

Prior to GTJHS, she coached at Frederick High School (FHS), where she began as the Defensive Coordinator and Goalkeeper Coach before taking over as the Head Varsity Field Hockey Coach. While at FHS, she led a complete program rebuild and guided the team to several milestones, including the most goals scored in a single game since 2006 and the most goals in a season since 2014.

As a student-athlete at Hood, Donahue was a two-sport athlete in field hockey and softball. She served as a two-year captain and earned multiple All-Academic Conference honors in both sports. Prior to college, she was a three-sport athlete at Seneca Valley High School (MD), earning county and All-Metropolitan honors in field hockey and softball, and helping her teams to multiple division titles.

Coach Donahue holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education and a master’s degree in educational leadership, both from Hood College. Her coaching philosophy centers around building confidence, teamwork, and resilience. She believes that success is measured not only in wins, but in the growth of each athlete—on the field, in the classroom, and as young leaders. She is excited to return to the Hood College community and is passionate about mentoring goalkeepers to become strong, strategic, and fearless competitors.
