Jennie Bowker was named the head athletic trainer at Hood College in the summer of 2014.
Prior to taking over the leadership of the athletic training staff, Bowker spent nine years as part of the Blazers' athletic training staff and seven as a full-time assistant. She served as a graduate assistant from 2006-08 and earned a promotion to full-time assistant in the summer of 2008.
Before coming to Hood, Bowker worked as an intern athletic trainer at Charlotte Country Day School in North Carolina. She has also spent some time working as an assistant teacher at a school for children with special needs.
Bowker received her bachelor's degree in athletic training from Campbell University. Prior to that she attended and played soccer at Montgomery College.
Bowker is board certified, state licensed by Maryland Board of Physicians, American Red Cross for FA/CPR/AED instructor, and CPR/AED professional rescuer and instructor. She is also a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, the Maryland Athletic Trainers' Association, and the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers' Association.
Bowker completed her master's degree in human sciences at Hood in May 2008.
