Lisa Mitchell

Lisa Mitchell is a full-time professional librarian and apart-time riding instructor. She has taught riding at privatebarns, to individuals at their own farms, and at summer camps.Mitchell has served as the co-coach of the Hood College EquestrianTeam since 2005. Mitchell holds an Allied Field in Horsemanshipfrom Alderson-Broaddus College and Centered Riding Level ICertification.

In January 2011, Mitchell received her USHJA Category Level ITrainer Certification. She continues to pursue educationalopportunities related to horse care, hunter seat riding andinstruction.

On April 26, 2012, at the ANRC national competition, Mitchellwas the winner of the ANRC's Professional Service Award. As anaffiliate of the U.S. Hunter/Jumper Association, the ANRC Boardrecognizes annually an outstanding individual who has contributedsignificantly to the ANRC organization and has personified theForward Riding System in his/her professional area, whether itinvolves teaching, riding, training, judging or technical support.A designated committee, consisting of at least three ANRC boardmembers, determines the recipient of the award based on feedbackfrom ANRC members and the equestrian community at large.
