Hood College

Suzie Smith, Hood's director of corporate relations, joins theBlazer coaching staff as an assistant coach for both the men's andwomen's squads in 2011-12.

Smith played for the women's tennis team as a sophomore andjunior at the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, also a DivisionIII school. She earned a bachelor's degree from Wooster in 1988 andwent on to garner a master of business administration degree fromthe University of Pittsburgh's Katz Graduate School of Business.Smith continues to play on USTA leagues in the area.

Smith and her husband Chris, a 1995 Hood graduate school alum,have a daughter, Erin (14) and a son, Clay (13) and reside inMiddletown. 

A top-performing pharmaceutical representative, Smith has 20years of experience in sales, marketing and customer relations andis responsible for increasing the visibility of the College in thearea; identifying, cultivating and soliciting corporations,corporate and private foundations; establishing new long-termpartnerships and strengthening existing relationships with areacorporations and foundations; and leading the College's board ofassociates and coordinating its fund-raising efforts.
