Hood College

Mike Hardman '11 was named the head coach of the Hood Collegemen's tennis team in August of 2014.

He served as an assistant coach with the Blazer men's andwomen's tennis teams from 2011-14. During that time, he coachedthree men's players and three women to all-conference honors.

A native of Bowie, Maryland, and product of Bowie High School,Hardman received a bachelor's degree from Hood in history andpolitical science from Hood in 2011. A four-year letterwinner onthe tennis team, he was honored at the 2011 senior student-athleteawards banquet with the President's Award, given to a seniorstudent-athlete who has distinguished himself throughout his HoodCollege careers in the areas of academic achievement, athleticexcellence, service and leadership.

Hardman's emergence during his sophomore year and beyondproduced outstanding results and he single-handedly raised the barof competition for the Blazer tennis team. He departed Hood as theprogram's career wins leader in singles (30) and doubles (19) andhe captured 17 singles matches at the No. 2 spot, the most all-timeat that position. His 11 wins in 2009-10 are tied for the mostall-time in a single season at Hood.

A member of the CAC all-academic team in 2010-11, Hardman earneda master's of business administration from Hood in 2014.
