Mason Wang of the men’s basketball team and Sophia Vilaca of the women’s lacrosse team are the Hood College Athletes of the Week for February 24.
Wang helped the Blazers to a pair of wins against Stevenson and Widener. He scored 18 points on Tuesday, going 7-of-11 shooting with 4-of-7 from 3-point range, and had three steals. On Saturday, Wang set the school record for points in a season and became the first Hood College player to top 600 points in a season.
Vilaca made 15 saves in goal and had five ground balls on Wednesday’s game against Bridgewater. On Saturday, she helped the Blazers clinch their first win this season recording 12 saves and four ground balls.
