Bentley LeBarron of the men’s lacrosse team and softball’s Belle Bortner are the Hood College Athletes of the Week for the period ending April 11, 2021. 

Bentley LeBarron, the senior midfielder from La Plata, MD, helped lead the Blazers men’s lacrosse team to a 17-9 victory over Albright College on Saturday, April 10. LeBarron scored five goals and collected one assist to propel the Blazers to their third win of the season. LeBarron now holds 97 career goals and 34 career assists. LeBarron is now the second top scorer in Blazer history. 

Belle Bortner, the sophomore pitcher from York, PA, had multiple strong showings in two doubleheaders against Widener University and York College of Pennsylvania. On Monday against Widener, Bortner secured the win on the mound, allowing six hits and two runs. She also hit a home run to give the Blazers the edge over the Pride. On Saturday, Bortner secured another win on the mound while also collecting three hits, two runs, and one RBI. Her pitching record is now 4-4. Bortner also had one RBI in Hood's 3-1 loss to Widener.
