Michael Riley of the men's basketball team and Danielle Pong from women's swimming are the Hood College athletes of the week for February 18, 2019. 

Riley averaged 22 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 2.5 assists per game in a 2-0 week, including a win over top-seeded Arcadia. Riley finished the week shooting 52 percent (14-for-27) from the field and 65 percent (11-for-17) from behind the arc. In a 90-74 win at Stevenson, Riley scored 22 points on 7-for-11 shooting (6-for-9 from behind the arc) with four steals, three assists and three rebounds. The junior followed that with 22 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and two assists in a 91-81 win over Arcadia to secure the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament.

Pong broke two of the Blazers' oldest swimming records at the MAC Championships. In the 100-yard breaststroke, Pong swam the fastest time during qualifying of the 100-yard breaststroke with a 1:06.05. She broke an eight-year-old record of 1:09.09 held by Arielle Harding. She took fourth place in the championship final with a time of 1:07.42. A day after shattering the record in the 100 breaststroke, Pong just snuck past Harding's old mark in the 200 breaststroke by just 0.4 seconds. Pong turned in a time of 2:31.32 to finish sixth overall in the event.
