Men's Soccer Keeps Cruising; Wins Sixth Straight

FREDERICK, Md.-The Hood College men's soccer team received goals from five different players Tuesday in its 6-0 victory over Centenary College.

Guillaume Farges, who entered the contest as the 12th leading scorer in NCAA Division III (2.57 points per game), paved the way for Hood with two goals and an assist. The win narks the Blazers' sixth straight and their fourth consecutive shutout as they improve to 7-1. Marcelino Rabara added a goal and an assist and Thomas Noonan also scored. The trio of Farges, Rabara and Noonan has accounted for 22 goals and 13 assists this season.

Also finding the net for the Blazers were Samson Olorunfemi and Sam Hofmann. Ben Snyder added an assist as did Hofmann. Goalkeeper Chad Baker had three saves for the shutout, his fifth of the season. His goals against average is a miniscule .375 now after entering the game 19th in the country at .428. Baker's consecutive scoreless streak stands at 367 minutes, 28 seconds.

John Osorio and Donnie Iudica split time in goal for Centenary (3-6) and combined for eight saves.

Hood will look to continue its winning streak when it next gets in action at Gwynedd-Mercy College on Oct. 3. The match is set to begin at 4:30 p.m.

NOTES-The six-game winning streak marks the longest-ever winning streak for a men's program at Hood. Men's sports began in 2003-04 and the previous record of five was held by the men's basketball team, accomplished last season.
