FREDERICK, Md.--Juniors Shane McCarrick and Marcelino Rabara
each scored first half goals as the Hood College men's soccer team
upended the visiting McDaniel College Green Terror Wednesday
afternoon at Thomas Athletic Field.
The Blazers won their second straight game and even their record
at 7-7-1 overall while McDaniel drops to 7-7-0.
McDaniel forward Chas Gray got the Green Terror on the board
first when he found the back of the net off a rebound at the 21:15
mark to give the visitors the early 1-0 lead.
But just over two minutes later, Rabara scored the equalizer in
the upper right corner of the net off a pass from junior Tom
Noonan. Then at the 37:36 mark, the Blazers capitalized on one of
11 corner kicks in the contest when freshman Corey DeMaster served
it up to McCarrick who beat McDaniel keeper Christian Maisel to the
left side for the eventual game-winner.
The Blazers return to action Saturday hosting Capital Athletic
Conference rival Salisbury University at 2 p.m. at Thomas Athletic
Field.
