YORK, Pa.--The Hood College men's soccer team dropped a 3-0
decision to the top-seeded and defending champion York College
(Pa.) Spartans Sunday afternoon in the first round of the 2006
Capital Athletic Conference tournament at Graham Field.
Hood managed just one shot during the contest, that by Corey
DeMaster. The Spartans got on the board at the 4:40 mark when Chris
Ports scored the first of his two goals on the day. Despite being
outshot 12-1 in the first half, the Blazer defenders only allowed
the one tally in the first 45 minutes.
In the second half, the Spartans netted back-to-back goals in a
span of 1:37 for the final margin.
Shawn Fernholz made six saves for the Blazers in goal.
The Blazers end their season at 8-10-1 while the Spartans
improve to 17-0-2.
