ARLINGTON, Va.--Marymount University scored three goals in a
five-minute span late in the second half to rally for a 3-1 win
over visiting Hood College in Capital Athletic Conference men's
soccer action Saturday evening.
After the teams battled through a scoreless first half, Hood
(3-5, 0-3 CAC) took a 1-0 lead when junior Marcelino Rabara tallied
an unassisted goal in the 51st minute.
Marymount (4-4, 3-0) pulled even on Paul Decker's goal in the
81st minute, and Decker assisted on Mark Higdon's eventual
game-winner just over two minutes later.
Chris Tipton added an unassisted insurance goal one minute, 59
seconds later to complete the scoring.
Nick Anderesh made six saves to collect the victory for
Marymount, while Shawn Fernholz had eight stops for Hood.
The Blazers are back in action Tuesday when they host Frostburg
State University in a non-conference match at 4 p.m.
