SALISBURY, Md.--The Salisbury University men's soccer team
(11-4-1, 6-1 CAC) scored three goals in each half to defeat Hood
College (4-11, 1-7 CAC), 6-0, in a Capital Athletic Conference
contest Saturday.
The Blazers managed just four shots on the day, and two on goal,
as the Sea Gulls peppered Hood keeper Shawn Fernholz with 27 shots
on the afternoon. Fernholz turned away 11 shots in a valiant effort
in net.
Four different Salisbury goalies saw time in the net and
combined for the shutout. Seniors Tom Noonan and Mars Rabara each
attempted a shot on goal but could not capitalize.
The Blazers will celebrate senior day Sunday against Randolph
College at Thomas Athletic Field at 1 p.m., honoring Noonan,
Rabara, Craig Wachter, Jason Donnelly, Shane McCarrick and Samson
Olorunfemi before the contest.
