ST. MARY'S CITY, Md.--The Hood College men's soccer team (4-8,
1-3 CAC) fell to the St. Mary's College (Md.) Seahawks (3-5-4,
2-1-2 CAC) Wednesday by a final of 3-1.
Chris Quamina and Misha Simon gave the Seahawks an early 2-0
lead within the first 22:06 of the first half. Hood tallied just
one shot on goal in the first stanza, that by Michael Yencho.
The Seahawks struck quickly in the second half when Chris
Madrigal converted a penalty kick in the 48th minute. Junior Carlin
Rabie notched his second goal of the season and fourth of his
career with three seconds left in regulation for Hood's lone score
of the afternoon. Classmate Shawn Fernholz tallied 10
saves in the losing cause, his third double-figure save effort of
the season and second in three games.
Hood returns to action Saturday at CAC opponent Wesley College
at 1 p.m.
