FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College men's tennis team (1-6, 0-4
CAC) suffered a 5-0 setback to the York College (Pa.) Spartans
(10-3, 3-2 CAC) Thursday in a Capital Athletic Conference match.
The Blazers and Spartans started and completed doubles action at
the Baker Park Tennis Courts but rain showers forced the two squads
to seek shelter for the remainder of the match. Hood and York
traveled to the Tuscarora tennis barn to complete singles action.
York swept all three doubles matches and triumphed at first and
third singles to clinch the match. The remaining four singles
matches were not completed after the final margin of the match was
decided.
Tim Mowrer downed Mike Hardman at first singles, 6-1, 6-0, and
Joel Trimmer topped Nick Gunther at the No. 3 spot, 6-0, 6-0.
The Blazers' next match is slated for Monday at Lincoln
University in a match rescheduled from March 27.
