FREDERICK, Md.--The St. Mary's College (Md.) Seahawks (11-2, 4-0
CAC) had five players reach double figures to remain perfect in
conference play in a 92-72 victory over the Hood College men's
basketball team (4-9, 1-3 CAC) Saturday at Gov. Thomas Johnson High
School.
An efficient Seahawk offense was too much for the Blazers, as
St. Mary's shot 52.1 percent from the field for the game. The
visitors used a 9-0 run to snap a 21-21 tie with just under seven
minutes to go in the first half and never trailed again. St. Mary's
held a 10-point advantage at the half (43-33) and led by as many as
29 in the contest.
Hood's J'Air Brady tallied a game-high 19 points on 6-of-10
shooting while Brenden Straughn finished with 18 points and three
assists. Tyler Snoots was a point away from a double-double with
nine points and a game-high 12 rebounds, while Jeff Willison
chipped in 14 points and seven boards.
The front-court tandem of Calvin Wise and Alex Irmer paced the
Seahawks with 18 points apiece.
