DOVER, Del.--The Hood College men's basketball team (5-10, 2-4
CAC) fell to the Wesley College Wolverines (8-5, 5-0 CAC), 102-88,
Saturday afternoon in a Capital Athletic Conference game at
Wentworth Gymnasium.
Hood raced out to a 16-5 lead over the first five minutes of the
first half but Wesley used a 13-2 run to tie the score at 18-18 at
the 11:20 mark. A Rashawn Johnson layup gave the Wolverines their
first lead of the day with 3:40 left in the period and the hosts
took a 50-48 edge into halftime.
Wesley outscored the Blazers 21-8 over the first 5:26 of the
second half and the Blazers got no closer than 14 the rest of the
way.
Tim Abercrombie paced the Blazers with 21 points while J'Air
Brady added 19. Jeff Willison and Tyler Snoots also reached double
figures, contributing 18 and 13 points, respectively.
Wesley's Johnson finished with a game-high 29 points and Evan
Martin tallied 24.
Hood returns to action Wednesday at Stevenson University for a
CAC game at 8 p.m.
