GRANTHAM, Pa.--The Hood College women's basketball team (3-9)
lost to the No. 19 Messiah College Falcons (9-2), 79-23, Thursday
evening in nonconference action.
Messiah hit three straight three-pointers to start the game and
mounted a double-figure lead 4:37 into the first half. The Falcons
limited the Blazers to four first-half field goals and led 40-10 at
halftime.
The Falcons shot 54.2 percent from the field for the game and
had four players reach double figures en route to their fourth
straight win.
Hood's Allyson Lethbridge finished with seven points and a steal
while Sara Wastler tallied five points and five assists. Jessica
Parrish and Jen Willison netted four points apiece and Brianna
Raithel contributed three.
Hood returns to conference play Saturday hosting St. Mary's
College (Md.) at 2 p.m. at Gov. Thomas Johnson High School.
