TOWSON, Md.--Junior guard/forward Kameran Evans of the Hood
College women's basketball team (1-5) netted a season-high 15
points in a 55-37 setback to the Goucher College Gophers (3-5)
Wednesday evening in nonconference action.
Evans, who earned her first start of the season, eclipsed her
previous best of 12 points set against Trinity University on Nov.
30 by hitting 5-of-8 from the field, including a pair of triples.
She also grabbed three rebounds and had a pair of steals in 34
minutes of work.
Jen Willison and Allyson Lethbridge contributed eight points
apiece while Stacey Jones chipped in four and Jessica Talley added
two. Talley also matched her season-high with three assists.
Goucher led wire-to-wire, though the Blazers did tie the score
at 11-11 on an Evans trey at the 14:21 mark of the first half. But
Hood connected on just one field goal in the final 12:02 of the
first half and trailed 30-17 at intermission. The Blazers were
unable to trim the deficit below double figures in the second
stanza.
Hood will look to snap its three-game slide when it returns to
the Odom Fitness Center at Fort Detrick Friday. The Blazers host
Philadelphia Biblical University at 6 p.m. in the first game of a
doubleheader.
