STEVENSON, Md.--Senior J'Air Brady matched his season-high with
20 points to lead the Hood College men's basketball team (9-5, 4-1
CAC) to a 66-50 Capital Athletic Conference victory over the
Stevenson University Mustangs (1-12, 1-3 CAC) Monday.
Hood never trailed in the contest en route to handing the
Mustangs their sixth straight defeat. The Blazers also won their
first game in the Student Union Gymnasium since the 2004 season and
improve to 5-3 all-time versus Stevenson.
Brady connected on 8-of-13 from the field and 3-of-3 from the
stripe to lead all scorers. Tyler Snoots and Reco Siler also
reached doubles figures in the scoring column with 11 and 10
points, respectively. Tory Wilson hauled in a game-high 10 rebounds
to go along with six points while Anthony Bennett chipped in eight
markers off the bench.
Hood shot 46.3 percent from the field and outrebounded the
Mustangs, 43-35.
The top team in the conference in scoring defense, the Blazers
surrendered just 50 points to the Mustangs, marking the lowest
total scored by one of Hood's CAC opponents this season.
Hood pulls even with York College (Pa.) and St. Mary's College
(Md.) for first place in the CAC, all with identical 4-1 league
marks.
The Blazers next travel to Gallaudet University (4-7, 0-5 CAC)
Wednesday for an 8 p.m. CAC tilt.
