Box Score YORK, Pa.--The Hood College men's soccer team (7-9, 2-6 CAC)
came up just short in its bid to earn a Capital Athletic Conference
tournament berth, falling 3-0 at first-place York College (Pa.)
(15-4, 8-0 CAC) Tuesday afternoon.
The Blazers allowed three Spartan goals, tying the fewest
tallies Hood has ever allowed to the perennial conference power
since joining the CAC. York scored one in the first half and twice
more in the second half to remain undefeated in the league.
Sophomore Will Lane recorded nine saves in defeat while sophomore
Jaime Ramirez fired Hood's lone shot on target in the 49th
minute.
The Blazers fall just short of qualifying for the six-team
conference playoffs, which begin this weekend. Hood registered
seven victories in 2010, one shy of the program record, and won two
CAC contests for the first time ever.
