FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College men's swim team (3-4, 1-4 CAC)
won eight events Saturday en route to a 121-78 Capital Athletic
Conference victory over visiting Frostburg State University (1-7,
0-3 CAC) at the Huntsinger Aquatics Center.
Robbie Ennis, Connor Eliff and Andrew Bodine were all double
winners for the Blazers in their respective individual events. That
threesome also helped the Blazers to a narrow victory in the 200
medley relay.
Ennis paced the field in the 100 breast (1:07.97) and the 200 IM
(2:12.31). His time in the 200 IM was a season-best. Eliff took top
honors in the 100 free (54.80) and the 200 free (2:01.23), both
season-bests. Bodine won the 50 free (23.23) and the 100 back
(1:01.23), lowering his 100 back time by 1.85 seconds.
Matt Benoit was a winner in the 100 fly (1:02.04) to round out
Hood's first-place finishers. He also took third in the 50 free
(23.98).
Chris Patschak came in second in the 1000 free (12:25.98) and
fourth in the 100 fly (1:21.81).
Kyle Atras took third in the 1000 free (14:21.05), fourth in the
500 free (7:19.28) and fifth in the 200 IM (3:07.67).
Drake Halpern finished fourth in both the 200 IM (3:00.84) and
1000 free (14:35.87) while Lucas Netter touched the wall fourth in
the 200 free (2:07.56), third in the 100 free (57.53) and second in
the 500 free (6:02.01).
Ethan Weidman posted a pair of season-bests and placed third in
three events--the 200 free (2:04.98), the 100 back (1:08.48) and
the 100 breast (1:12.78).
Carlin Rabie placed fourth in the 50 free (24.99) and the 100
back (1:09.53) while James Baker finished fifth in both the 500
free (8:24.17) and the 100 fly (1:32.00).
The 200 free relay team of Patschak, Baker, Halpern and Rabie
came in second in 1:49.86.
Hood returns to action Saturday hosting Gallaudet University at
2 p.m. at the Huntsinger Aquatics Center.
