DOYLESTOWN, Pa.--Despite a game-high 21 points from Tyler Snoots, the Hood College men's basketball team (8-7) came up on the short end of a 77-69 decision to the Delaware Valley College Aggies (7-7) Monday evening in nonconference action.

Hood and Delaware Valley traded baskets for the first 8:25 of the opening period. The Blazers took a 15-13 edge midway through on a three-ball by Jamal Bell off a feed from Justin Stone. But the Aggies would outscore the Blazers 16-3 over the next 7:06 to assume an 11-point advantage with 4:29 to play in the half. A resilient Hood squad managed to erase that deficit in less than three minutes and knotted the game at 29-29 on a Snoots layup and, after four ties and seven lead changes over the first 20 minutes, the two squads went into the locker room even.

The Blazers and Aggies seesawed back and forth once again in the second half. But after a Jason Goldheimer three-pointer at the 14:31 mark put the Aggies in front, 45-42, the Blazers would be playing catch up the rest of the way. Trailing by seven, Cameron Cook buried a three and Snoots converted a three-point play to close the gap to one, 57-56, with 5:49 to go, but Hood was unable to cash in the go-ahead basket and the Aggies would go on to win by eight.

Snoots finished with a double-double of 21 points and 10 boards, the 10th of his career. Herb Bowen and Brenden Straughn nearly did the same; Bowen chipped in 11 points and nine rebounds to go along with a pair of steals while Straughn tallied nine points and eight assists. 

All five Aggie starters reached double figures and Delaware Valley shot 49.1 percent from the floor.

Hood returns to conference play Wednesday hosting the University of Mary Washington at 8 p.m. at the Odom Fitness Center.
