Box Score STEVENSON, Md.--The Stevenson University men's soccer team (6-6-1, 2-2 CAC) scored the only goal of the contest in the 11th minute which proved to all the offense it would need to upend the Hood College Blazers (3-5-1, 0-2-1 CAC) Saturday afternoon in a Capital Athletic Conference tilt.
SU's Jason Stover netted his second score of the season at the 10:20 mark off a through ball from Yianni Sarioglou. The Blazers fired off six shots on the afternoon, including four on target by Matt Sharp, J.T. Smaldore, Chris Mahone and Eric Diehl.
Hood keeper Will Lane stopped five of the six attempts he faced. The Blazers suffered their third straight one-goal defeat and slip to ninth place in the CAC standings.
Hood looks to turn things around Wednesday when it welcomes CAC nemesis Marymount University to Thomas Athletic Field for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff. The Saints (2-5-3, 0-1-2 CAC) are currently in seventh place in the league but have dropped their last two in a row.
