Hood Men's Soccer Falls to McDaniel 2-0

Box Score

WESTMINSTER, Md.—The Hood College men's soccer team (3-2-1, 0-0-1 CAC) lost for the first time in four games to the McDaniel Green Terror (2-3-1) in a non-conference matchup.

McDaniel began the scoring very early in the contest with a goal by Shane McCracken in the second minute of play. Marrio Davis assisted on the goal and moments later in the ninth minute he finished an opportunity from the top of the 18 to put the Green Terror up 2-0. The hosts would maintain that lead for the remainder of the game.

In a game where Hood was missing five starters due to injury or suspension the Blazers struggled to get anything going. Hood attempted 10 shots on the day but only put four of them on goal. McDaniel attempted 18 shots in the game and Hood goalkeeper Will Lane made four saves for the game. Both teams were even with seven corners on the afternoon.

Hood will get back to action at home this Saturday for a critical Capital Athletic Conference contest with in-state rival St. Mary's College (Md.) at 1 p.m.
