WASHINGTON, D.C.--The Hood College women's swim team (4-7)
downed the Gallaudet University Bison in a nonconference dual meet,
104-99, Saturday afternoon.
Hayley Rogers and Lindsay Cronin were both double winners for
the Blazers, who won a total of six individual events on the day.
Rogers earned top billing in the 200 free (2:15.11) and the 100
free (58.04) while Cronin won the 1000 free (11:50.50) and the 500
free (5:50.31). Theresa Schwarzwalder won the 50 free in 27.85 and
Arielle Harding won the 100 breast for the sixth time this season
in 1:12.13, her fastest clocking of the season.
Daniela Mittelkamp finished second to Cronin in the 500 while
Andrea Haines helped Hood go 1-2 in the 1000. Additionally, Cronin
took second in the 100 free and Tairen Lamkin was the runner-up in
the 200 free.
The Blazers wrap up the regular season next Saturday in a double
dual at Juniata College with Penn State-Altoona at 2 p.m. The
Blazers will then have three weeks to taper for their final Capital
Athletic Conference championship Feb. 17-19 at St. Mary's College
(Md.).
