ST. MARY'S CITY, Md.--The Hood College men's basketball team (12-7, 4-6 CAC) struggled from the floor all night which led to a 64-46 Capital Athletic Conference defeat at St. Mary's College (Md.) (14-5, 8-2 CAC) Wednesday evening.

The Seahawks maintained the upperhand throughout the contest en route to capturing their 10th straight win in the series. Despite the setback, the Blazers remain in sixth place in the league standings, while St. Mary's holds steady at the number two spot.

Cameron Cook was the only Blazer to reach double figures with 12, connecting on 5-of-11 from the floor and 2-of-6 from three-point land. Justin Stone finished with eight points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals and Adrien Straughn and Jordan Diggs came off the bench to net six points apiece. Stone also moved up to third place on Hood's career steals list, now with 109. Brenden Straughn is ranked second all-time in that category with 117, trailing only Darnell Edmonds '07 (255).

The Seahawks limited the Blazers to just five first-half field goals, including just two in the final 10:30. A much-improved 48.0 percent shooting effort in the second half was not enough to make up the 15-point halftime deficit.

Christian MacAuley paced the Seahawks with 17 points, including three dunks, to go along with four blocks and nine boards. SMCM was also aided by nine three-point field goals and a 36-32 rebounding edge.

The Blazers look to get back on track Saturday at York College (Pa.) at 2 p.m. and will seek revenge from the heartbreaking buzzer-beating defeat at BB&T Arena back on Jan. 11. The third-place Spartans (12-7, 7-3 CAC) have won five straight since that last-second triumph and are coming off an 81-73 CAC win over Frostburg State University earlier tonight.
