READING, Pa.--The Hood College women's swim team (7-4, 4-4 MAC)
split a double dual at Albright College Saturday. The Blazers
defeated Ocean County Community College, 95-9, but fell to the
Lions in conference action, 79-27.
Shannon McHale was a double-winner for the Blazers in the 100
back (1:03.38) and 200 back (2:17.27).
Brittany Whitham finished second in the 200 free (2:08.51);
Lauren Fogarty was the runner-up in the 200 fly (2:19.46); Caitlin
Fay took second in the 100 free (57.53) and the 500 free (5:30.98);
and Lindsay Cronin was the runner-up in the 400 IM (5:33.10).
Hood was also second in both relays; McHale, Meg Blodgett,
Theresa Schwarzwalder and Whitham were touched out by the Albright
squad in the 200 free relay by 0.02 seconds and the 200 medley
relay team of McHale, Fogarty, Katie Rogers and Fay touched the
wall in 1:58.75, less than a second behind the Albright
foursome.
Hood next travels to Notre Dame (Md.) University for a 7 p.m.
nonconference meet Wednesday. The Blazers will host their first and
only meet of the season at Huntsinger Aquatics Center Saturday
versus Frostburg State University at 2 p.m.
