Box Score ANNVILLE, Pa. - Hood College dropped a road match in Commonwealth Conference action at Lebanon Valley in straight sets, 25-14, 25-17 25-17.
In the first set, the Blazers trailed just 10-7 before an 8-0 run by the Dutchmen put the set out of reach. LVC kept the momentum going into set two and opened with an 8-1 spurt to keep Hood out of striking distance.
The Blazers opened the third set hot, jumping out to a 6-2 lead behind a block and a kill from Kathryn Jones (Newfane, N.Y. / Newfane). Later, a kill by Rebecca Rieser (Middletown, Md. / Middletown) put Hood ahead 16-12, but a kill by Kayla Confer started a 13-1 run for LVC to end the match.
Amy Hagerdon (Berryville, Va. / Clarke County) led the Blazers with five kills and added an ace, five digs and a block to her evening. Brenna Elizondo (Littleton, Colo. / Heritage) dished out eight assists. Rieser tallied three blocks, while Allie Donoghue (Owings, Md. / Bishop McNamara) added a pair. Addie Roop (New Windsor, Md. / Francis Scott Key) chipped in with six digs.
For the Dutchmen, Confer had a match-high 10 kills and Kacey Musselman led all players with 21 assists.
Hood closes out the regular season on October 31 at Catholic in non-conference action. The first serve is slated for 7 p.m.
