MECHANICSBURG, Pa. - The Hood College women's basketball team dropped a Commonwealth Conference tilt against the Messiah College Falcons tonight, 74-39. 

Gillian Glackin led all scorers with 15 points and 10 rebounds for the double-double. Verkia Smith (Waldorf, Md. / North Point) led the Blazers with 14 points. 

The Falcons jumped out to a 5-0 lead before Danni Medovich (Woodsboro, Md. / Walkersville) cut the deficit to 5-2, with 18:29 remaining in the half.

Smith hit her first of two three-pointers of the game to end a four minute scoreless drought to make it a 27-14 game with 6:33 left in the half. 

Messiah took a 45-16 lead into the locker rooms at halftime led by Glackin's 11 points, and another nine from Hannah Nichols.

Rachel Kessler (Middletown, Md. / Middletown) led the Blazers at the half with five points, with Medovich and Smith chipping in four each. 

Medovich finished the game with eight points and five rebounds, Smith had five as well. Rachel Wiley (Frederick, Md. / Tuscarora) led Hood with six boards. 

The Blazers outrebounded the Falcons 39-38, and shot 75 percent (15-of-20) from the charity stripe. 

Hood returns to action on December 14 to take on the McDaniel Green Terror for the final away game before the new year.
