Box Score FREDERICK, Md. - Despite Drew Demich (Jefferson, Md. / Brunswick) extending his goal scoring streak to five matches, McDaniel defeated Hood in a see-saw battle, 3-2.
The Green Terror captured the lead in 30th minute when Spencer Phillips notched a goal into the left side of the net after a pass from Andrew Hofmeister. The 1-0 advantage held out through the rest of the first half.
The Blazers rallied in the second half scoring twice in the first 11 minutes. Juliano Pillari (Toms River, N.J. / Toms River North) found his way through the left side of McDaniel's defense, and shot to the far post.
Just three minutes later, in the 56th minute, Demich was awarded a penalty kick and gave Hood a 2-1 lead.
In the 67th minute, the Green Terror's Kerry Shutt scored off a cross from Hofmeister tying the score 2-2. Sean Foley secured the win for McDaniel after an assist from Spencer Phillips in the 85th minute for a 3-2 victory.
Demich's goal streak is the longest since Guillaume Farges in 2005. His ten goals this season are fourth most in a season in Blazer history and his 30 points put him in fifth place on the career leaderboard.
Henry Mills (Frederick, Md. / Tuscarora) made three saves in the match. Nick Over stopped six shots for the Green Terror.
Hood looks for a win when it takes on Commonweath opponent Widener on October 18.
