Box Score CRESSON, Pa. - Senior Hayley Rogers (Sandwich, Ill. / Brunswick (Md.)) had her third six-block match of the year, but Hood College fell at Mt. Aloysius, 3-1.
Set scores were 19-25, 25-20, 27-25 and 25-21.
Rogers' five solo blocks were the most for a Blazer since the 2005 season and she paced Hood with 10 kills in the loss.
The Blazers limited the Mounties to .000 hitting in the first set, a six-point victory for the Blazers. Mt. Aloysius evened the match with a 25-20 win in set two. After the Mounties outlasted Hood 27-25 in the third set, they polished off the win with a 25-21 fourth set win.
Addie Roop (New Windsor, Md. / Francis Scott Key) and Elizabeth Hawkesworth (Westminster, Md. / Winters Mill) had nine kills apiece for the Blazers. Roop had 12 digs, while Hawkesworth added three blocks. Kari Betson (Frederick, Md. / Frederick) had an all around solid performance with eight kills, 13 digs and three blocks.
Kathryn Jones (Newfane, N.Y. / Newfane) and Brenna Elizondo (Littleton, Colo. / Heritage) split time at setter. Jones led the team with 23 assists, while Elizondo dished out a dozen. Keesha Fields (Willow Hill, Pa. / Fannett-Metal) added 10 digs.
Lakyn Fornari led all players with 14 kills for Mt. Aloysius. Megan Buddock had five blocks and Kristin Miles chipped in with four.
Hood travels to Goucher for a tri-match including Rosemont on October 11.
