FREDERICK, Md. -- The Hood College women's basketball team travels to Lebanon Valley in a Commonwealth Conference matchup on December 3 at 6 p.m.

SCOUTING HOOD

The Blazers are 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the Commonwealth Conference.

Hood is led in scoring by senior Rachel Wiley (Frederick, Md. / Tuscarora) averaging 12.5 points per game, along with 12.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocks . Junior Verkia Smith (Waldorf, Md. / North Point) is averaging 6.2 points and three assists per contest. Junior Briana Lee (Frederick, Md. / Tuscarora) is averaging 6.2 points per game so far this season, and four rebounds as well.

LAST TIME OUT

Hood Lost to Arcadia 70-53 on November 22. Wiley contributed a double-double in the loss, scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Alexis Briscoe (Columbia, Md. / Long Reach) added eight points for the Blazers and Rachel Kessler (Middletown, Md. / Middletown) had eight points, three steals, six rebounds and hit 4-of-5 free throws.

SCOUTING LEBANON VALLEY

The Dutchmen are 5-1 overall and 0-1 in the Commonwealth Conference after losing to Messiah, 78-65 on November 29.

Bridget Rothert leads Lebanon Valley in scoring this year with almost 18 points per game in addition to grabbing almost eight rebounds and five assists. Taylor Umbrell averages 12 points, six rebounds and three assists, while Lexie Lantz is also scoring 11.5 points per game for the Dutchmen.

LAST MEETING

Last year the teams met twice, and each team tallied a win from the two contests. In the first game, Hood beat the Dutchmen in overtime for the Blazers first win as a program over a ranked opponent. However, the second game was won by Lebanon Valley, 55-38, despite the tremendous team defense and five blocks recorded by Wiley.
