FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College fell to visiting King's in non-conference action, 2-0.

The Monarchs struck first with a penalty kick from Niall Croke in the 43rd minute. 

The Blazers appeared to tie the game midway through the second half when Christiano Pillari (Toms River. N.J. / Toms River North) came down the middle and played the ball to Kenton Onspaugh (Ijamsville, Md. / Oakdale) on the left side. The freshman beat the keeper, but was ruled offsides. 

Pillari had a free kick in the 68th minute to his twin brother, Juliano Pillari (Toms River. N.J. / Toms River North), whose shot from the top of the box sailed just wide. 

King's put the match out of reach when Kevin Hopkins took a corner kick and David Stroh headed it home in the 72nd minute. 

Henry Mills (Frederick, Md. / Tuscarora) made two saves for the Blazers. 

The Monarchs' Tyler Wilson notched the shutout with three saves. 

Hood outshot King's 12-10. The Monarchs had seven corners in the game, compared to just two for the Blazers. 

Marymount (Va.) visits Thomas Athletic Field on September 30.
