Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. - Hood College dropped a Commonwealth Conference contest at Arcadia by a final of 73-53.
Rachel Wiley (Frederick, Md. / Tuscarora) notched her eighth double-double of the season for the Blazers with 13 points and 10 rebounds. After the senior forward, Hood's scoring was balanced with seven players scoring between four and seven points. Rachel Kessler (Middletown, Md. / Middletown) had seven rebounds and two steals.
A layup by Arianna Delerme (Harrisburg, Pa. / Susquehanna Township) gave the Blazers an early 8-6 lead, but the Knights embarked on an 18-3 run to take a 24-11 advantage with 11:52 left in the first half.
Briana Lee (Frederick, Md. / Tuscarora) hit a 3-point field goal and Allie Appleby (Bel Air, Md. / C. Milton Wright) followed with a free throw to make it 29-21 with 6:42 on the clock, but that was as close as the Blazers would get for the remainder of the half. Wiley scored in the paint with eight seconds left to pull Hood within 39-30 at the half.
Arcadia used a 10-2 run to break away at the beginning of the second half. A Kessler field goal with 8:40 left brought the Blazers as close as they would come after that, 57-43.
Hood held the Knights to just 1-of-12 from 3-point range, but Arcadia turned 21 Blazer turnovers into 20 points. Hood enjoyed a 26-9 advantage in bench scoring.
Addy Crenny had game-highs with 18 points, 13 rebounds and five blocked shots. The forward added five assists and two steals. Valerie Dimuro scored 17 points and Maureen Fiocca added a dozen.
The Knights went 20-of-26 at the free throw line (77 percent).
Hood, 4-14 overall and 2-7 in the Commonwealth Conference, hosts Lebanon Valley on January 28.
