Box Score READING, Pa. - Hood College's Drew Demich (Jefferson, Md. / Brunswick) scored with just two seconds left in the second overtime to prevent a draw and lifted the Blazers to a 1-0 win at Albright in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth action.
The two sides went into the 110th minute scoreless and appeared headed for a tie. Hood was awarded a late corner kick and on the ensuing set piece, Juliano Pillari's (Toms River, N.J. / Toms River North) strike found the NCAA's leading goal scorer, who chested the ball, headed it and then booted it home for the win.
It was Demich's 18th goal of the year and his fifth game-winner. The assist was the sixth of the season for Pillari.
Joe Centeno (Mount Airy, Md. / Linganore) made five saves for Hood. It was his fourth clean sheet of the season, one short of Chad Baker's school record. With six team shutouts this season, the Blazers have set a new school record.
The win was the 10th of the year for Hood, the first men's soccer team in school history to reach double figures.
Austin Aldinger made three saves for Albright.
It was nearly Christiano Pillari (Toms River, N.J. / Toms River North) with a dramatic game-winner in the first overtime. The junior had a shot on net saved as time expired, sending the teams to a second extra period.
The Lions attempted to take care of business in regulation, as Austin Phillips was able to get a pair of shots in the 90th minute, but neither try was on net.
Hood hosts Stevenson on October 14 at Thomas Athletic Field
