Box Score FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College men's basketball team closed the game with a 23-12 run, but Goucher held off the hard-charging Blazers, 78-70.
Davon Hill (Clinton, Md. / Potomac School) led Hood with 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting. Trevor Magnuski (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) added a dozen points on 6-of-9 shooting. He tied Ian Eversull (Ijamsville, Md. / Urbana) for the team-high seven rebounds. Michael Robinson (Upper Marlboro, Md. / Pallotti) had 11 points and four steals off the bench.
Goucher's Kevin Miles and Tucker Canary combined for 54 points. Miles, who scored a game-high 28 points, grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and had five assists. He was 4-of-7 on 3-point field goals. Canary was 5-of-8 from 3-point range and 7-of-11 overall on his way to 26 points.
In the first half, the Blazers led by as many as 17 after a layup by Hill made it 32-15. Miles scored 11 points during a 16-2 run that chipped Hood's lead to 34-31 at the half.
After the Blazers went ahead 36-31 in the opening minutes of the second half, the Gophers went on a 23-5 run to take a 54-41 lead midway through the half.
Hood shot 48 percent in the contest and went 4-of-10 from 3-point range. Hood held a 39-34 rebounding edge.
On Saturday, December 12, Lebanon Valley visits BB&T Arena for a 3 p.m. tip off. The contest will be a White Out and all fans are encouraged to wear white. The first 200 Hood students with a valid college ID will receive a free t-shirt.
